Festulolium
Festulolium is a high (sugar) energy grass that is obtained by crossing a ryegrass (perennial or an Italian) with a meadow fescue or tall fescue variety. Festuloliums like fertile soils and respond well to nitrogen. They are better than ryegrass in drought tolerance but not as good as fescues. They are excellent for silage or balage and also very good for grazing. Festuloliums work well in short rotations of 3 years or less. Festuloliums are successfully used to extend the growing season of hay fields and pastures.

Barfest Festulolium is a late maturing festulolium variety developed for improved persistence. Barfest is winter-hardy and highly palatable. It has produced excellent yields in several forage trials in the Midwest. Barfest has excellent rust resistance and performs well in heavier soils. Lofa Festulolium
Lofa is a festulolium resulting from a cross between Italian ryegrass and meadow fescue. The resulting plants look very much like ryegrass. Lofa is very palatable and it is among the highest in sugars, which contribute to palatability and also digestability. For best results, Lofa should be used for silage or grazing. Fojtan Festulolium
Fojtan festulolium was bred in the DLF Festulolium breeding program located in the Czech Republic. Fojtan is different from earlier festuloliums in that it is crossed with tall fescue rather than the traditional meadow fescue. Fojtan has relatively fine-textured leaves and forms a very dense sod, which makes it a perfect choice for grazing mixtures. The maturity of Fojtan is similar to Kora tall fescue; it reaches prime quality about the same time as other species like alfalfa, late orchardgrass, and medium-late perennial ryegrass. 50 lb bag.
