Meadow Fescue
Meadow fescue is growing in popularity in the U.S. in pasture mixes. It grows under cool, moist conditions, tolerating wet and sometimes flooded areas. Once established, it also performs well under drier conditions for making hay or silage. In good soils, meadow fescue surpasses perennial ryegrass in summer production. Meadow fescue is also a good companion to grow with alfalfa.

Pradel Meadow Fescue
This new release from Barenbrug is a standout in our recent forage seeding trial and at other screening locations. It is denser and taller than our other meadow fescues tested. Its forage quality and palatability approaches ryegrass. We will be incorporating this new variety into some of our mixtures as seed supply increases. Pradel is a late maturing, winter hardy, and high yielding variety. (Pradel does have animal friendly endophytes that improve persistence and cause no problems with animal performance or digestibility.) Seeding rate 25-35 lbs/acre.Barenbrug USA - This product is supplied by Barenbrug, a world-wide, forage-based company that has specialized in high quality grasses and legumes for over 100 years.
