Palaton Reed Canary Grass
A low alkaloid variety is a leafy, high yielding, long lived perennial. It is bred out of Palaton and Venture. Plants were selected for plant type, absence of leaf disease, yield potential, and low alkaloid content. Palaton does not contain any of the alkaloid (triptaminecarboline) that causes diarrhea in grazing animals and reduced performance. Seeding rate at 10-15 lbs/acre.$4.95/ lb.
