Red Clovers are
more drought tolerant and productive than White Clover, but not
quite as high quality. Use some of each for grazing! In Penn
State’s trials, the average yield of all the Red Clovers was a
little hither than the average yield of the leafhopper resistant
Alfalfas, the year after seeding!

Start
from Barenbrug
-Order Now-
This Red Clover is persistent and provides good
yields of high protein, palatable forage. It exhibits good
winter-hardiness, as well as improved heat and drought
tolerance. Start, a Diploid variety, has a very erect growth
habit and resists lodging. Its regrowth capabilities are
excellent. Start Red Clover will not grow as tall as other Red
Clover, but is denser and more persistent and has higher
quality. It acts like an in-between of Red and White Clover.
It’s a grazing type of Red Clover.
Freedom!
from Barenbrug
-Order Now-
Freedom! Red Clover is the latest release
from the University of Kentucky. Freedom! Is selected for
increased dry matter production and drying and has finer stems
and less pubescence (hairs) on the stem that causes the plant to
dry faster. Results will be higher hay quality. In our test
plots, Freedom! looks very impressive.
